Obituary

Marlene J. Beckwith, age 70, funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the JAKUBS & SON FUNERAL HOME, 936 E. 185th Street, Cleveland. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 until 4:00 and from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.

Marlene was born July 18, 1949 to the late Herbert C. and Mildred (nee Mudrich) and passed away on February 26, 2020.

She was the beloved wife and best friend of 40 years to Paul Beckwith; loving mother of Vanessa and Paul; cherished grandmother of Mila Felicity and Anneliese Brynn; sister of Diane Henikman (Bill); aunt of Ross, Dina (Sean), numerous nieces, nephews and friend to so many.

With her bright red lipstick always perfectly applied and dressed to the nines, she was a “force of nature” that touched and showed unconditional love to everyone she met. She had a one of a kind soul that was always willing to help anyone and everyone, but never asked for anything in return. She was the matriarch of the family that she loved so deeply and had a deep devoted spiritual practice. The zest for life that she had will now be carried in the hearts and minds of the community that she loved for all of eternity.

Donations may be made in Marlene’s memory to Angelman Syndrome Foundation, 75 Executive Drive, Suite 327, Aurora, IL 60504

There are no words to express your loss Paul, Vanessa, Paulie, Mila and Anneliese. My friend of sixty-five years has gone to be with her Mom and Dad and my Mom and Dad along with Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Mike, Uncle Fred, Debbie and Baby Beckwith. You got there first and I know you will be waiting for me when it is my turn. I saw the Lord's Prayer over and over and over again to find my peace. It just is not working right now. I love you and miss you so much. Lord take good care of my Mari.

I am so deeply saddened to learn that Marlene has passed. I will forever remember her dancing in the Andrews rec room right after lunch. Her moves were so cool; I would go home and try to imitate them in front of a mirror. She always seemed to be cheerfully and easily on top of things. I admired her.
