Grazina “Grace” Budrys, age 88, died peacefully March 22, 2019, at The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, North Carolina, with her son and his family by her side. Prior to her passing, she was a resident at Ayden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ayden, NC for four years.

The daughter of Vincentas and Adele (nee Kuncaitis) Benokraitis, Grazina was born in Lithuania. After arriving to the United States in 1949, she and her husband, Jonas, settled in Willowick, OH, where they lived until 1985, when they relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
While residing in Willowick, she was a member of the Lithuanian Parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. While in Florida, she was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church of Pompano Beach. Upon her arrival to North Carolina in 2015, she was a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church in Greenville, NC.
Grazina, always with a warm and welcoming smile, loved cooking traditional Lithuanian meals for her family. While raising her family, she was an avid fan of her son’s and family’s many sporting events. She also enjoyed family trips, especially cruises with her husband, as well as walks on the beach.
Grazina is survived by her two sons, Ray (Linda) Budrys of Greenville, NC and their children, Dr. Ashley (Stuart) Johnson of Greenville, NC, Alyssa (John) Franklin of Clayton, NC, and Alex Budrys of Cary, NC; and great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Benson, and Baylor, and Madelyn Grace; her son, Dr. Al (Debbie) Budrys of Concord Twp., OH and their children, Autumn Budrys of Concord, OH, Erin Budrys of Eastlake, OH, and Dr. Jeffrey (Alexis) Budrys of Painesville, OH; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Peyton, Ava, Avery, Addison, Carson, and soon to be great-grandson (Jeffrey and Alexis); sister, Dalia Gotceitis; and brother, Vitalius Benokraitis.
In addition to her parents, Grazina was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jonas, in 2005; a baby brother and baby sister.
The family wishes to thank all the staff of Ayden Court for the love and care they have shown her for the past four years, especially her nurse, Cookie and her CNA, Stacy.
A Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 27th at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother, 3250 Dickinson Ave., Greenville, NC.
A Funeral Mass will also be offered at St. Casimir Parish (formerly Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 18022 Neff Rd., Cleveland, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3rd. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Rd., Chardon, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lithuanian Club, 877 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.
