Obituary for Dorothy Friscic (Lapinski)

Memorial Mass for Dorothy Josephine Friscic (nee Lapinski), age 95, will be 11:00 am
Saturday, March 20, 2021, St. Casimir Church 8223 Sowinski Ave., Cleveland 44103.
Dorothy, one of 14 first generation Americans born to Polish immigrant parents, died
peacefully at home, after a stoic battle with Peripheal Artery Disease. Dear mother of
Donna Gulya (Frank) and Robert (Patty Skaggs). Cherished grandmother of Mary Beth
Frye (Edward), Michael Gulya (Lisa), Christine Friscic (Austin Gatto), infant, Anthony
(decd) and Liana LaSusa (Tyler). GG to Jacob Gulya, infant Joshua Gulya (decd),
Benjamin Gulya, Haley Frye. Sister of Edward, Caroline Conway, Aurelia Wellman
(Richard); sister-in-law Dolores Lapinski; aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, friend.
Preceded in death by parents, Antoni & Stella (Synkowski) Lapinski; husband, Emil M.,
siblings; Harriet, Kathryn Brzezinski, Cecilia Kaminowski, Mary Tadaj, Irene Hein,
Chester, Arthur and Raymond.
Throughout her retirement she was a caretaker, avid bowler, polka dancer and traveler.
Described by her grandchildren, Dorothy was a confidant, insightful, loving, supportive,
wise and young at heart.
The family thanks Ennis Court of Lakewood and Hospice of the Western Reserve for
