I am so sorry for your loss of Deb Bakos. I taught third grade with her for so many years at Jordak Elementary. She was such a joy to work with. I called her the "resource queen" because she had so many relevant materials and she knew every author, speaker, current teaching philosophy, etc. Even after taking her cancer medicines after her first round of cancer in which she claimed affected her memory, she still knew all these authors and important people. Deb had such a beautiful spirit about life. Whenever I called her, even during the last month, she always said "hello" with such enthusiasm and happiness. When she wrote comments on cards and on Facebook, she always knew how to word things so well and was very eloquent. She was an amazing person, and she will be missed. My sympathies go out to her family for the loss of this wonderful person. Chris Hiller

Deb Bakos was a great inspiration to me when I started teaching at Jordak Elementary. She was always showing that she was interested in others and truly cared. Her sense of humor was a bright spot on many days. She had a great way of connecting with her students and colleagues alike. I am honored to have known her. So sorry to hear that she has passed away.

RIP to one of the best teachers ever. While I didnt have her as my 3rd grade teacher, my brother did. she always made me and Kyle laugh and always gave us great advice and pushed us to be the best! Gone too soon! Fly high Mrs. Bakos 💔😭 I promise to be the best teacher ever and carry on all of your advice and get my students to love reading as much as I do!
