Amelia RUTH “Mille” Savastano (nee Sustarsic), age 97, went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 19, 2019. Born on April 13, 1921, Millie was first generation Slovenian-American, the daughter of Amalia and Frank Sustarsich (both deceased), who immigrated legally to the United States in the early 1900s. She was step-daughter of Josephine Sustarsich; wife of Vincent J. Savastano (deceased) and former spouse for many years to Joseph H. Dezelan Jr. (deceased); beloved mother to Linda (David) Bland, Carol (Robert) Trende, Joseph (Jeanette) Dezelan and Marilyn Brozovich; stepmother to James (Maryann) Savastano, Linda (David) Geng, and Ilona Savastano (deceased); sister to Stanley and Victor Sustarsic (both deceased); grandmother and step grandmother to 11; great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and dear friend to many. In keeping with Millie’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and private interment at the convenience of the family. Jakubs & Son Funeral Home will handle all arrangements. The family suggests any contributions be donated to a charity of their choice in Millie’s name.
