Funeral services for Albert J. Jarosz, 86, of Willowick, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at St. Mary Magdalene Church, E. 321st and Vine Streets, Willowick. Mr. Jarosz passed away March 7, 2010, in Willowick. Born Jan. 19, 1924, in Cleveland, he was a Willowick resident for 53 years. He was a decorated World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a former member of the Willoughby Knights of Columbus and an avid gardener. Mr. Jarosz worked in inside sales with Tri Electric Supply in Mentor. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marcella (nee Harsa); daughter, Elaine Waites; sons, Paul and Mark (Annette); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Daniel, Fred, Ben and John Jarosz. A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan E. (Monde) Haas will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Justin Martyr Church in Eastlake. Mrs. Haas was born on Cleveland's near west side March 6, 1940. She lived in East Cleveland, Euclid, Parma and Brook Park, and settled in the Eastlake Harbor area, where she has lived for the past 37 years. Joan enjoyed and appreciated nature. She was a Lake County "Senior Hiker" and enjoyed exploring all the area parks. An avid boater, she enjoyed cruising and fishing Lake Erie. She won several awards from the Northeast Ohio Walleye Club for her fishing prowess. She was a devout Catholic, and felt honored to serve the congregation as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. Joan was a warrior. She bravely fought cancer for three years, far outliving the estimates of her doctors, and she shunned any offerings of sympathy. Joan served as corporate secretary to Shore Appliance Co. of Euclid and Mentor for 31 years, and was an integral part of that company run by her husband. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Fred; her son, Ryan (Janet); and grandsons, Ryan Jr. and Christopher Haas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Monde. ANTONI L. KOWALEWSKI. Born in Poland to Helena and Wladyslaw on Aug 25, 1924. He met his future wife Natalia in Amsterdam, Holland in 1955 while in the Polish Merchant Marines after W.W.II. They were married at St. Casimir Church in 1957 where they became lifelong parishoners. He was employed at Reliance Electric for 32 years were he also invented hand tools for the company. He was a member of the Polish Club S.P.K. He embraced life to the fullest and loved to laugh. His passions included: bee keeping, gardening, fishing, planting trees, and reading. He was a wonderful conversationalist and loved talking politics. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edward and sister Wanda Wajda. Left to cherish his beautiful memory are his wife and children: Teresa, Jadwiga (Giuseppe) Zodda, Maria, Wladyslaw, and Krystyna (Edgar) Moreno; brother Mieczyslaw, sister Irena and nephews and nieces. He was a loving grandfather of Antonio, Damian, Julia, and Andzej who were the joys of his life in his later years. Mr. Lucas passed away Aug. 22, 2009, in Willoughby. Born Jan. 24, 1931, in Cleveland, he was a former resident of Cleveland and Euclid before residing in Eastlake for 14 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching sports on television. Mr. Lucas was a sheerer with Manchester Steel in Euclid for 35 years before retiring in 1993. He was also a former member of the Steelworkers Union. LUCRETIA DELANEY, 94 years young, left to catch up with Jack, her husband of 53 years, and meet the Lord on July 24, 2009. Her husband, Jack F., former Lieutenant in charge of the Cleveland Police Ports and Harbors Unit, died in 1990. She had lived fiercely independent since his death, succumbing to a stroke. She had worked 17 years as a morning manager for McDonald's Restaurant, 17120 Lakeshore Blvd., drove her beloved yellow stick VW Bug up until 1993. She is survived and adored by her children Jack (Patricia), Carol (Raymond, deceased 1990) Fisher, Eileen (Ronald) Kohut, Tim (Molly), and Peggy (Barry) Masin. She was a wonderful grandmother to Colleen Stevens, Jack, Mike and Brian Delaney, Susan Fisher Shetawi, Sally, Rebecca and Missy Fisher, RD and Molly Kohut, Kaitlin and Maggie Delaney and Joseph and Bridget Palcko, Barry and Jack Masin. She was a doting great- grandmother to Zade and Sayf Shetawi, Zac and Zoe Fisher, Delaney and Sean Stevens, Jack and Joseph Delaney, Grace and Liam Delaney and excited about an expected RD and Nicole Kohut arrival due Sept 09.
